Relationships with Other Clubs

A world-wide organisation structure exists to support and encourage international competition amongst aeromodellers and to provide member services such as dedicated flying fields and insurance. CMAC's relationship with other aeromodeling bodies is shown in the following diagram.

The peak body is CIAM, the FAI International Aeromodelling Commission. FAI's aeromodelling and spacemodelling activities, in particular World Records and International Competitions, are conducted under the direction of CIAM.

The governing body for aeromodelling in Australia is MAAA, the Model Aeronautical Association of Australia.

Each of the eight Australian States and Territories has a state organisation affiliated to MAAA. ACT's state organisation is ACTAA , the ACT Aeromodellers Association Inc.

As shown in the diagram, CMAC is one of a number of local aeromodelling clubs affiliated to ACTAA. For a full list of clubs in the Canberra region, please refer to the ACTAA website.
