About Weather Station

For information about the current weather conditions at the CMAC field go to weather.cmac.org.au.

This info comes from:

  • a Vantage Pro2 weather station that measures barometric pressure, temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction, UV/solar and much more!
  • a small video camera pointing west from the Club House.

Andrew Tridgell and Jack Pittar designed and implemented the weather station/webcam remote sensing system that brings you the current weather info on-line. Briefly, a micro-computer periodically interrogates the Vantage Pro2 and the web-cam, packages the info and transmits it via a 3G mobile phone link to the Internet Service Provider TPG where it is inserted into the current weather page published for CMAC.

Andrew explains that "the weather station is actually a donation from the CanberraUAV team to thank CMAC for the wonderful support the club has given us in our outback challenge efforts. "
